Marketing Communications Specialist

About the Role:

GoHealth is looking for an inspired self-starter to join the Marketing team as the Marketing Communications Specialist. The right candidate will have experience in Communications, PR, and Social Media, as well as an understanding of lead generation marketing. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Brand Communications.

The Marketing Communications Specialist will develop and activate media for various corporate communications and organic social media channels. They will write and create media assets as well as work collaboratively with internal and agency creative teams. The ideal candidate is creative, has excellent written communication skills and can make complex topics easier to understand.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop engaging content for B2B, B2C, and B2E audiences
  • Write and distribute corporate communications materials such as: press releases, corporate announcements, prepared remarks, presentations, and media alerts
  • Leverage research and data to inform communications strategies and creative ideas
  • Translate key business priorities and concepts and research into newsworthy stories and coordinate with internal communications team members to pull through meaningful storylines
  • Handle routine media inquiries and create and maintain media lists
  • Utilize internal and external resources in the development of media and materials
  • Assist with developing and executing strategic and tactical communications campaigns that drive business outcomes and generate positive brand publicity
  • Manage and steward GoHealth social media accounts by defining the purpose and voice for each platform, nurturing the audience, and publishing content to influence reputation, consideration, and drive traffic
  • Create and manage content calendar for all social channels
  • Moderate responses to comments on external social media site
  • Define and track success metrics to gauge brand impact on social media engagement, organic leads, brand visibility, and community sentiment
  • Work cross-functionally to match business opportunities with social media campaign ideas, media pitches and thought-leadership
  • Monitor media to report coverage that affects the GoHealth’s business and industry. Summarize key themes from social listening and recommend actions, if applicable
  • Other media and brand reputation duties as assigned

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Advertising
  • 2+ years of PR, Communications and /or Social Media experience
  • Experience writing and distributing press releases and corporate communications
  • Solid understanding of social media marketing and proven record of success
  • Strong written communication skills including grammar, syntax, and spelling abilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to execute on a plan and prioritize under deadlines
  • Desire to understand health insurance, Medicare, and the senior demographic
