Chief Marketing Officer

About the role:

GoHealth operates in the Medicare Advantage space, serving a primary target population of 56M+ seniors ages 65 and older, including 10,000 Americans turning 65 every day. As our Chief Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for understanding our customers and their healthcare needs and attracting them to the services that GoHealth offers to improve their healthcare journey.  You will oversee all aspects of the omnichannel direct-to-consumer marketing for the company, including media channels such as television, direct mail, radio, pay-per-click, social media, display, and more.  You will manage a $300M+ budget and lead a team that has consistently proven itself as the leader in the space.  As a critical member of the GoHealth executive team, you will help shape the future of the company and ensure we remain a major player in our industry.  We are looking for a dynamic, transformational leader who is passionate about our mission, has a love for data-driven decision making, excels at cross-functional collaboration, and thrives in a rapidly evolving environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Set marketing strategy and goals in collaboration with other departments and lead the team to achieve company-wide objectives
  • Gain a deep understanding of our customers and their needs and translate those into breakthrough creative and messaging
  • Understand the GoHealth customer journey and use exceptional analytic acumen and marketing experience to optimize funnel metrics and throughput
  • Understand the complex Medicare regulatory environment and find creative ways to attract new customers to the GoHealth platform
  • Monitor key performance metrics and make real-time decisions to improve company outcomes
  • Drive ongoing experimentation and creative leadership to expand our total addressable market penetration
  • Own the development and optimization of all customer lifecycle communications
  • Build brand awareness among past, present, and future GoHealth customers
  • Own public relations and communications
  • Continue to grow the marketing team

What will make you successful:

  • Strong ROI orientation and experience managing $100M+ performance marketing budgets where every dollar spent is tracked back to revenue contribution
  • Experience managing in-house channel/media teams vs. heavy reliance on outsourced agencies
  • Experience deploying a brand marketing investment with specific and measurable impact to demand generation
  • Experience with full funnel optimization and profitability, from initial marketing response to customer retention and renewal
  • Experience working closely with inside sales organizations and familiarity with key production factors like attendance, ready-on-call %, average handle times, customer disposition implications, etc.
  • Prior roles in heavily regulated industries with complex compliance considerations
  • Nimbleness and decisiveness; the ability to take calculated risks and link marketing plans/outcomes to business impact
  • A passion for data and analytics, with the ability to present results in a clear and logical manner and glean insights for continuous growth and improvement
  • A keen sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • A collaborative style with the ability to build relationships with diverse constituents
  • Candid, open communication, with sensitivity to multiple styles and perspectives
  • Strong executive presence, character, and integrity; ability to lead and influence up, down and across

What we are looking for:

  • Strategic thinker and creative problem solver who is willing to roll up their sleeves daily
  • Self-starter who enjoys taking initiative to drive and deliver results. Comfort in managing with ambiguity and adapting to changing business needs.
  • Undergraduate degree in marketing or related discipline; MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of performance marketing experience
  • Experience managing internal marketing teams of 50+ people
  • 5+ years of executive or C-level marketing experience
  • Direct experience across online and offline marketing channels, with 5+ years of digital marketing experience
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams that consist of internal employees as well as external agencies and vendors
